Presence

It’s all about being present, right here, in this moment.

What’s important is being aware of what you feel in your body, what thoughts are present in your mind, and what emotions you’re feeling.

The yoga I teach is based on this idea. We sometimes talk about chakras, or ¬†opening the heart, or any number of personal growthy type concepts–although in general I don’t talk much in my classes at all, aside from direct instructions.

In other words, my classes are not “preachy.” Our major focus is on being right here, right now. With complete attention on the present, and without resistance to what you’re feeling, whatever healing needs to happen, will happen.

I draw my inspiration from two very different teachers, yet similar in that they are strong women: Shiva Rea and Ana Forrest.
